We exist as an enterprise on our own since the year 2002 (until then we worked as a part of an enterprise for water management “DTD“), and since the december 2006 we are a part of business system “Victoria Group“.
The town of Bačka Palanka is situated on the left bank of the Danube river. Bačka Palanka with its thirty thousand inhabitants is the centre of Bačka Palanka local district. This local district occupies 578 square kilometres in the south part of Bačka district, and it has approximately 60 000 inhabitants.
The geographic position of Bačka Palanka is extremely good. Since it is situated on the Danube, with trans-european Rhine-Main-Danube river-canal system it is connected directly with the countries spreading from North to the Black Sea, and those are: Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine.
From the aspect of road network, it has a good position due to the direct connection to  the major road Novi Sad – Sombor, and due to the proximity to the motorway Subotica – Belgrade and Zagreb – Belgrade.
What makes its position even more important is the border with Croatia as well as the proximity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Luka Bačka Palanka“ shareholder with its quay, which is situated on the 1295th kilometre of the benk of the Danube river, has a very good position concerning micro location. It is situated on the edge of the town, in industrial zone. Near the port there is the main road for Novi Sad and Sombor (with a ring road around Bačka Palanka), so in this way one can reach the port directly and avoid driving through downtown.
